Negeri Sembilan state is just 50 km south of Kuala Lumpur. Negeri Sembilan, which literally means nine states, is mainly rural with patches of urban development. It is noted for strong Minangkabau influences which are still evident in its kampung houses and official bulidings.

Seremban, the capital of Negeri Sembilan, with the population of 263,383 persons, has area of 95,133 square hectares. It takes about 45 minutes drive from Kuala Lumpur to Seremban. It houses a few cultural handicraft complexes, namely the State Museum, the State Mosque and the lake gardens.

Port Dickson, is the pride of Negeri Sembilan. Formerly a producer of charcoal, the state's main town was called Arang. The Arang of old has now become a seaside haven known to one and all as PD (Port Dickson).

Its proximity to KL makes it attractive as a weekend gateway for city folks. The most of 'happening' area in PD is the 18-kilometre stretch of beach from Tanjung Gemuk (north) to Tanjung Tuan (south). Next to Tanjung Tuan is a popular spot for picnics and bird-watching.
